The Black Box was an Absolute, resembling a metallic black cube.
Design
Externally, the Black Box appears as a featureless black metallic cube with subtly etched edges. Internally, it houses a stable, contained black hole that does not produce observable spatial distortion while the device remains inactive. Notably, the contained singularity maintains a constant size and exhibits no detectable mass loss, despite the expected effects of Hawking radiation.
Characteristics
Upon activation, the Black Box undergoes a structural transformation in which all six external faces detach from the core and begin to orbit the exposed black hole. In this state, the singularity functions as a fully active gravitational entity for a limited duration. Following this period, the external plates instantly reform, enclosing the black hole once more. The Black Box also possesses the ability to release the black hole fully, which can be directly controlled via the primary device for a limited duration, after which the black hole will be automatically retrieved.
Status
The Black Box was formerly under the control of Acheron. However, the object was lost during the Ashen Winter Incident, and its current location is unknown.
