Signal Stations are a network of eight remote installations positioned at considerable distances beyond the perimeter of the Chromatican City.

Function

Each Signal Station operates as a largely autonomous, multipurpose facility. Their primary functions include, but are not limited to, early warning system, radar observation, navigational beaconing and positional reference. The distributed placement of the eight stations allows for continuous coverage of the area surrounding the Chromatican City, enabling cross-verification of detected phenomena.

Personnel

Every Signal Station is staffed by a single technician at any given time. Personnel serve in rotational assignments lasting six months, during which they reside entirely on-site. The assigned technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of station systems and verifying the accuracy of collected data. This includes authenticating observational readings, thereby providing human confirmation alongside automated monitoring processes.

All Signal Stations maintain access to a shared communication channel, allowing technicians to exchange operational data and validate recorded readings across the network. This system also serves as a welfare safeguard, enabling confirmation that each station remains active and that its assigned personnel are safe and responsive.
