The Luxtree is a colossal arborescent structure located at the geographic and magnetic centre of the OTHERWHERE. It serves as the primary spatial reference point within the dimension.
Morphology
The Luxtree rises to a height of ~10,000 km, with a significant proportion of this measurement attributed to its vast, densely interwoven crown. Notably, the crown is composed of leafless branches, forming a tightly packed lattice that radiates uniformly from the upper structure. The entire tree exhibits a deep golden-yellow colouration, and its surface continuously emits 6000 lumens of light, enabling it to remain visible across extreme distances.
Navigational Role
Magnetometric readings have confirmed that the Luxtree aligns with the magnetic north pole of the OTHERWHERE. As such, it functions as a fixed navigational anchor, utilised extensively in orientation and cartographic systems within the dimension.
Root System
The Luxtree’s root network spans millions of km, extending radially across the OTHERWHERE and embedding itself into numerous islands. These roots often terminate in localised clumps, which influence biome formation and habitat stabilisation in their vicinity. The presence of Luxtree roots has been directly correlated with increased ecological complexity and biodiversity on these islands.
Importantly, these root terminations frequently exhibit non-Euclidean spatial behaviour. Roots may appear within islands that are geographically disconnected or spatially isolated from the main trunk, with no discernible continuity between root clusters and the Luxtree itself.
